Country Music: New worlds

Country Music: New worlds

Room 3 | 15:30 – 16:30 | Thursday

Chair: Ben Martin, Marshall Arts (UK)

What constitutes country music is a broad discussion, whether it’s the highly successful genre of pop music in the US, Americana, or the more traditional country. But however you describe it, country is big business; and the colossal US-originated style is now attracting growing audiences abroad. With dedicated festivals cropping up in the UK, Ireland and elsewhere around Europe, there’s huge potential for the live music business. As London’s C2C festival opens the day after ILMC, what better moment for our panel of invited experts to share their views on this mushrooming international scene?

Guest speakers include:
Bertus de Blaauw, Mojo Concerts (NL)
Sean Goulding, UTA (UK)
Bob Harris OBE, WBBC (UK)
Milly Olykan, C2C Festival / AEG International (UK)
Sarah Trahern, Country Music Association (US)
