United Talent Agency (UK)
Neil is the global head of touring at United Talent Agency. As part of this executive role, he oversees a robust roster of UK agents and artists, advising on both regional and international touring business strategy.
He is one of the most experienced music agents in the world and a key architect of the modern live music business. He has directly helped to open up new touring markets in areas such as India and China for international artists, and has been an influential player in expanding the global footprint of the live music business.
He currently represents some of the largest worldwide touring acts including Dolly Parton, Deep Purple, Mariah Carey and David Gilmour. His extensive and varied career has also seen him work with legendary artists including Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Johnny Cash, Simon & Garfunkel and Michael Jackson.
Among his many unparalleled achievements are Michael Jackson’s tour stop in India; The Rolling Stones’ tours in South East Asia and Europe; and Pink Floyd’s two world tours, plus numerous events, including having the band play Russia before the Iron Curtain came down and negotiating for them to play on the Grand Canal opposite St Mark’s Square in Venice.
Neil began his career over five decades ago, provisionally running an agency in London whilst also working full-time in the print business. He quickly built an enviable reputation in the growing London live circuit after setting up his first company, Southbank Artists, and later being recruited by NEMS Agency – the legendary home of The Beatles – where he became the director of contemporary artists.
He went on to work with Pink Floyd after NEMS acquired the Brian Morrison Agency in 1969. A few years later, he left NEMS to join the Bron Agency as co-MD. In 1981, he set out on his own and started The Agency Group, quickly expanding to the US and Canada. In 2015, The Agency Group was acquired by United Talent Agency (UTA). He currently serves as the global head of touring and oversees UTA Music’s London office.
Outside of UTA, Neil is actively involved with the Nordoff Robbins music charity where he sits on the Board as trustee and is chairman of fundraising, as well as the Country Music Association Advisory Group where he is a participating member.
During his career, he has received multiple industry awards, recognising his significant contributions to the live music business. These include: the Classic Rock Magazine VIP award in 2005; Booking Agent of the Year at the Pollstar Awards in 2007, 2008, 2011 and 2012; Agent Of The Year at the A&R Worldwide Industry Awards in 2014; Agent Of The Year at the MUSEXPO Awards in 2015; and the coveted Strat at the Music Week Awards in 2015. Most recently, he received the Outstanding Contribution To Music award at the Live Music Business Awards in October 2017.
Neil is married with three children and lives between Surrey and London.
