James has been in Artist Management since the late 1990s, with accolades including Music Week Manager of the Year, MMF Manager of the Year & Music Business Worldwide Manager of the Month (Feb 2016).
Following twelve years with SuperVision Management, seven of those running the company with business partner Cerne Canning, SuperVision was folded and migrated across to form the origins of Red Light Management’s UK office at the start of 2012.
James’s current management roster includes Bastille, Belle & Sebastian, Interpol, Kaiser Chiefs & Ricky Wilson, Crystal Castles, The Vaccines, Broken Social Scene, The Cribs, White Lies & Temples, with Red Light's London office also representing artists including Everything Everything, Franz Ferdinand, Frightened Rabbit, Oh Wonder amongst others.
Artist Highlights - multiple #1 UK albums including The Vaccines, Kaiser Chiefs and White Lies. NME's Outstanding Contribution to Music Award two years running Belle & Sebastian (2014) & The Cribs (2013). NME's John Peel Award for Innovation for Crystal Castles. BRITs Best New Artist nomination & winners of same NME Awards category for The Vaccines. Kaiser Chiefs three BRIT Awards wins (2006), an Ivor Novello Award and multiple Q & NME Awards.
2016 will see the release of the second Bastille album, co-managed by James & Will Botwin, Red Light Management's US President – aiming to continue the breakthrough success globally with Bad Blood, a debut cycle that delivered a Grammy nomination, and a BRIT Award win for Best New Artist.
